Virtual Connections

The Life of the Mind Consortium is all about connections, about coming together to share information and ideas, and about working together to improve our own lives and those of our extended communities. Increasingly our connections with others have a virtual component; we link to each other via e-mail and internet sites.

The initial sites listed here are to the partner institutions themselves and to a few subsets that are particularly relevant to the mission of the Consortium. Additional links point to organizations such as Elderhostel and Lancaster's own Quest for Learning whose work extends that mission.

Seniors take linking seriously!

Since the primary focus of the Consortium is on the arts, the next set of links provides information about museums, galleries, and events in Lancaster city and county. We then extend our range just slightly to connect to similar sites in nearby Philadelphia, New York, and Washington. Finally, we recognize that, in today's world, we can share and find joy by connecting to the treasures of the some of the world's best art museums.

The Camera Club at Willow Valley

The discovery of enormous humor and talent among the residents through the medium of photography is revealed in the Camera Club website. Digital photography opens all sorts of windows and doors to both the serious and the playful mind. As the Consortium website expands, we will continue to draw upon their various talents to enhance the messages we put forth. The Camera Club at Willow Valley offers challenges for members to test visual and often metaphoric approaches to a given photographic focus.
